Dual-language immersion education, the Integrated Curriculum and Singapore Math are three pillars of YHALE curriculum. With the rigorous curriculum, the cutting-edge pedagogies and the high standards we set for our students, we believe that we will be fulfilling our mission of providing a world-class education to our students. A world-class education system should not just be defined by academic performance, but also by the quality of its educational outcomes and whether the content and skills are adequately preparing students for a rapidly changing global environment. That requires visionary leadership, ambitious standards, high-quality teachers and an effective structure that aligns and couples vision and daily practices. In this article, we’d like to share with you the core elements that will ensure the success of YHALE program.

School Five-Year Rolling Strategic Development Plan

Although 2020 is YHALE's inaugural year, the school board has formulated a rolling five-year strategic plan for sustainable development of the school. The initial stage (1-2 years) of the school will focus

on developing a collaborative teachers team who will devote themselves to build a rigorous dual-language immersion curriculum with cutting-edge pedagogies. YHALE believes that a high-quality educational program is the foundation of a school's sustainable development. In view of this, YHALE will intentionally maintain at a small scale cap enrollment in order to concentrate on the development of quality teaching during first years of the school. The 3-5 year stage will be a gradual expansion stage. The expansion plan includes growing enrollment at each grade , the acquisition of a permanent campus, and opening YHALE middle school.

Campus Development

The temporary location of the school is at the Sugarloaf Korean Baptist Church (1664 Old Peachtree Rd, NW, Suwannee). All classrooms and facilities on the site have passed the quality and safety inspections by the Georgia Department of Education. Meanwhile, the school has been actively looking for a venue to serve as the school's permanent campus. Although we are not sure where the new campus will be, one do know is that the new campus will be located at the west side of Gwinnett.

High-Quality Faculty

YHALE regards excellent teachers as the core asset of the school, so it follows a strict selection criteria when hiring teachers and recruits only experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate teachers to join the school. At present, 90% of the teachers hired have obtained a master's degree in education with at least

(playground- to be remodeled) 5 years of teaching experience. Teachers who will be teaching the target language (Mandarin and Korean) all had taught in public or private schools in the United States. The school curriculum coordinator has extensive dual-language immersion experience and is very knowledgable about Common Core State Standard. YHALE has also appointed a Math curriculum coordinator who has more than 20 years in Math teaching and 8 years in Singapore Math. Under her leadership, the school will make YHALE's mathematics education one of the school's signature program.

Cultural Features

The blend of Eastern and Western cultures will reach a balance in YHALE. Every aspect of school life will embrace this philosophy.

Cultural Lunch

A Chinese proverb says that people regard food as their prime want. Food and eating can best reflect a culture. YHALE believes that lunch time is one of the best cultural educational opportunities. One of YHALE's goals is to foster international mindedness. By dining at the school, students can learn different food cultures and experience the cultural diversity of the United States. The students will have a taste of dishes from different countries and regions and learn about the cultures and stories behind the food.

School Uniforms

School uniforms will not only make parents’ lives easier by requiring less time selecting clothes for their child every day, but uniforms will also unify the image of the school. The school hopes that wherever YHALE students go, this school uniform will remind the students that they are a member of YHALE, and their behavior should comply with the school’s code of conduct. At present, the school is still in the process of selecting uniforms, but the style will look like the example shown in the picture below.

Extracurricular Activities

YHALE believes that elementary school is the best stage to explore and develop personal interests and hobbies. The school will provide various extracurricular activities for students. In addition to the regular extracurricular activities such as theater, chess, soccer skills, basketball, music, chorus, scientific experiments, programming and robotics etc., YHALE will also provide cultural related extracurricular activities, such as street dance, taekwondo, Chinese painting etc.,. In addition, the school will also offer afterschool language classes to provide additional support to the students who need to strengthen their language learning.
